Welcome to
the
Art Room
at Sedalia Elementary!
Hello! Hola! I am excited to begin another year in Sedalia's Art room. I have many engaging lessons planned for our 2023-2024 school year. Our students come to Specials on a weekly rotation. Having each class for 5 days in a row provides more opportunity to build relationships and to complete incredible masterpieces.
Instruction in Art incorporates the Elements of Art and Principles of Design with our Colorado Visual Art Standards.
Art Media:
Our artists experience a variety of media.
In art we create in both 2D and 3D. We draw with crayons, colored pencils, thick and thin markers, oil pastels, and chalk pastels. In painting we use both watercolor and tempera paints. We also create with kiln fired clay and model magic. Some years we do weaving with paper and yarn and other years we learn embroidery and sewing.

Composition
The art room is a labor intensive place! I always have lots and lots of artwork to label and hang in the hallways. I love to exhibit every single thing the students create because they work so hard on their pieces.
